I recently had the honor of being featured on the Cultivate CNY Podcast where we dove deep into inclusion, advocacy, and how we can work toward meaningful systems change in education and beyond.
🎙Watch the full episode below and let me know what resonates with you!
A few takeaways from the interview:
On ADHD in girls and why it’s often overlooked:
"Girls with ADHD often mask their symptoms, and their behaviors are very different from boys. We tend to treat what we see in boys, which means many girls struggle silently without proper diagnosis or support."
On the need for proactive inclusion and systems change:
"The students sitting in our classrooms today are not the students we had ten years ago. COVID, mental health challenges, and evolving societal knowledge mean we have to change how school is done—from infrastructure to schedules—to truly meet their needs."
On the importance of mindset and embracing change:
"Nothing kills an organization faster than the phrase, ‘That’s how we’ve always done it.’ You need to have a growth mindset, and that starts at the top. Change isn’t easy, but it's necessary for real progress."
